If You Don't Have Cookies Enabled On Your Browser, You Will Not Be Able To Do Many Things On This Site
What About Cookies?
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide special features for you and to identify items in your stored Shopping Basket between visits.
The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of some of www.photodirector.net's most advanced features, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.
Are Cookies Dangerous or Malicious?
The cookie that is sent to you by www.photodirector.net is a tiny text file that assigns a unique number to your browser session so that if you buy prints, our system knows which online user owns which shopping cart; that's all we do. Our cookie expires when you log off. Our cookie does not contain or gather ANY private information from your system. Our cookie is not invasive in any way and is purely an identifier - we absolutely guarantee that.
Having said that, and although cookies are not dangerous, there is a new trend by some marketing organizations to use a cookie to track a lot more of the things you do on a website, such as which pages you visit, which region your IP address is from, and even which other sites you visit. The cookie itself can't do this but if it's persistent (designed to last after you close your browser) then as you travel around the Internet to other sites, the sender of the cookie can follow you by the existence of the cookie. This is a rudimentary explanation of how "spyware" works.
Spyware and such use of cookies is not the way we work and we never use this technology - that's a promise.
In a nutshell, if you're not logged in, we don't know who you are and even when you're logged in, we're not spying on you.
Does www.photodirector.net Share the Information It Receives?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, but we absolutely guarantee not to sell, give away or provide ANY information about our customers to any oerson outside our organization.
How Secure Is Information About Me?
We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.
We reveal no information about your credit card when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing via 128-bit encrypted SSL.
It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to log out when finished using a shared computer. The Logout button will appear at top right on each page when you're logged in.
Which Information Can I Access?
www.photodirector.net gives you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with www.photodirector.net for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information.
What Choices Do I Have?
As discussed above, you can always choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to make a purchase or to take advantage of such www.photodirector.net features as Your Profile, Wish Lists, and other information.
You can add or update certain information on pages such as those listed in your profile. When you update information, we do not keep a copy of the prior version.
If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, please adjust your Profile accordingly. (If you do not want to review Conditions of Use, Conditions of Sale and other legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Notice, those notices will still govern your use of www.photodirector.net, and it is your responsibility to review them for changes.)
The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, you will not be able to use such important features as ordering if you do not use cookies.
